T3 Motion, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: TMMM) received worldwide exposure for its iconic clean-energy T3 Series Electric Stand-up Vehicle (ESV) in last night’s Super Bowl XLIV broadcast. Four of the vehicles were featured in a 60-second commercial by Audi entitled “Green Police” promoting their diesel wagon, the A3 TDI® (Green Car Journal’s 2010 Green Car of the Year®). Rock and roll legends Cheap Trick rewrote the lyrics to their hit song, “Dream Police,” for the soundtrack to the commercial which aired in the fourth quarter of the worldwide broadcast to an estimated television audience of over 100 million viewers.

Since 2006, T3 Motion, Inc. has deployed over 2,000 T3 Series ESVs around the world and over 5,000 of its proprietary power management systems with swappable Lithium-ion batteries. The T3 Series has become a daily tool for public safety, government and security applications for over 500 agencies. Other deployments include the Staples Center in Los Angeles during Lakers games, major retail venues such as the Beverly Center in Beverly Hills and the Pier Shops at Caesar’s in Atlantic City, and medical facilities like the Cleveland Clinic and Kaiser-Permanente. In addition to the North American market, the T3 Series has been deployed in the Bahamas, Bermuda, Guatemala, Holland, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Qatar, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.

The four T3 Series ESVs were selected by production vehicle specialists Picture Car Warehouse and advertising agency Venables Bell & Partners to represent the “Green Police” clean-technology patrol vehicles seen throughout commercial. Special “Green Police” graphics were designed and applied to each of the vehicles. The commercial was filmed in Southern California in January 2010.

Over the last two years a fleet of hydrogen fuel-cell powered vehicles have been test driven by everyday people. Participants in Project Driveway were given the opportunity to drive the gas-free, emissions-free Chevrolet Equinox wherever they wanted and recently reached the millionth mile mark.

To celebrate the millionth mile, current and former drivers came together to share their experience and talk about the future of hydrogen. In exchange for the two months of free gas and insurance, the drivers provided feedback to engineers on the Equinox. Customer comments help the automaker improve the fuel cell experience and in some cases modify the vehicle, bringing it one step closer to reality.

Several automakers have said that they will have hydrogen powered vehicles ready for market by 2015.

Edmunds.com published an article comparing Fuel economy three cars from our long-term fleet known for squeezing extra miles out of every gallon of gas: the spunky 2008 Smart Fortwo with a 1.0-liter, three-cylinder engine, the thrifty 2008 Ford Focus SES coupe with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta TDI, with its legendary 1.9-liter “TDI” diesel engine. Then they added a heavily favored gasoline-electric hybrid to the mix: a 2008 Toyota Prius.

The electrics were clearly working tonight as HH drove to the barrier in complete silence. It’s not clear how the motors will work in the race, but judging on tonights performance they’ll be perfect for pitlane use. Especially when trying to run over a rival team’s pit crew. They’ll never hear it coming!
