Volkswagen Dieselution Tour Across America
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Volkswagen of America, Inc. is launching the Dieselution Tour, a mobile marketing exhibit, to educate the media and the public on advances in clean diesel technology and alternative fuels. Using interactive displays and exhibits, the Dieselution Tour will highlight current environmental issues and showcase advances in diesel engine technology, design and performance. Starting today, the exhibit embarks on a four-month tour, making stops at events and locations around the United States, including environmental and alternative fuel festivals, auto shows and the 2008 Super Bowl. Volvo ReCharge Concept unveiled
Volvo is unveiling an innovative plug-in hybrid at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The ReCharge Concept is a specially designed Volvo C30 with individual electric wheel motors and batteries that can be charged via a regular electrical outlet. When fully charged the Volvo ReCharge Concept can be driven approximately 62 miles on battery power alone before the car’s four-cylinder 1.6 Flexifuel engine1 is needed to power the car and recharge the battery. Fiat and Microsoft Introduce “EcoDrive”
At the 62nd International Motor Show in Frankfurt, Fiat Group Automobiles and Microsoft are set to unveil “Eco Drive”. The EcoDrive solution, spearheaded by Fiat Group Automobiles, demonstrates that an auto maker’s environmental responsibility should not stop when the car leaves the production line – but extend into the way consumers drive their cars. Chevrolet unveils first of fuel-cell SUVs
Visitors to Manhattan’s ECOFEST 2007 will witness the first of a fleet of fuel-cell Chevrolet SUVs that will soon be driving across metropolitan New York, fueled by hydrogen and emitting nothing more than water vapor.
Real drivers will participate in the world’s biggest fuel-cell test, involving more than 100 Chevrolet Equinox Fuel Cell SUVs. The two-year pilot will begin in the New York metropolitan area at the start of calendar 2008.
Saturn will also display at ECOFEST its award-winning Aura sedan powered by a hybrid gasoline-electric system that delivers a 25 percent fuel economy improvement for a premium of less than $2,500. Read more
