Volvo has announced they have decided to enter their E85 powered Volvo C30 racer in the WTCC (World Touring Car Championship) at Brands Hatch on the 26 – 27th of July. After securing three out of seven pole positions and leading close to half of all laps driven in the Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC) this year, Volvo wants to see how it will stack up against the strongest of competitors on the legendary Brands Hatch circuit at Kent, England.
Visitors at today’s GreenFleet Arrive ‘n’ Drive event at Rockingham are able to experience an impressive range of Volvo cars, including the new Volvo V70 2.5 FlexiFuel Turbo (FT) 200bhp police car, developed by Volvo to the specific requirements of the Emergency Services as part of its environmentally-friendly FlexiFuel offer. Joining this new model at the event is the C30 SportsCoupe, S40 saloon and V50 Sportswagon, all equipped with Volvo’s 1.8 FlexiFuel engine, and the Volvo V70 2.0 FlexiFuel estate.

Volvo Car Corporation will develop an entirely new racing car based on the compact C30, and Volvo will continue to work with bioethanol (E85) and Green Racing in the Swedish Touring Car Championship. Volvo Cars has committed to a three-year development program for the C30.
