Top 5 Reasons to Drive Green

Green technology, especially when talking about cars, has been growing and expanding by leaps and bounds over the last several years. From hybrid vehicles and full electric cars, to vehicles that run on biodiesel, the market for green cars is rapidly growing as well in response to an increasing demand for vehicles that are less dependent on foreign oil.

As these technologies continue to develop, more and more people are switching over to green machines. What follows is a short list of reasons that you, too, may want to start driving green.

Mileage

Many green cars get up to twice as many miles per gallon as their gas economical counterparts. With newer vehicles now exceeding sixty miles per gallon in the city, people are jumping on the green car bandwagon. Sure, gas prices have been dropping lately, but just think back a couple of months when we were paying more than four bucks a gallon. If history has taught us anything, it’s that it certainly does repeat itself.

Lower Emissions

Green cars emit far less harmful pollutants into the atmosphere, which means they have a much smaller carbon footprint than their oil-driven counterparts as well. Less emissions in the atmosphere could mean a huge reduction worldwide in harm from vehicular traffic overall. Ultimately, if enough people switch over in time, we could reverse some of the negative effects of pollution.

Tax Incentive

If you are thinking about dollars and cents, then it behooves you to make the switch. Uncle Sam is willing to give you a hefty rebate in the US if you buy an environmentally friendly vehicle. This alone could be enough for many people to purchase a green car, especially as the year draws to a close.

Improved Designs

Green cars used to be purely functional, but now form and function are coming together to produce some great looking green cars—even purely electric sports cars. Green cars now range from looking just like other cars on the road to standing out from the crowd in more ways than one. Make a statement and benefit from years of research and development in making these vehicles the best they can be without complications.

Do Your Part

There are many great reasons to make the switch to green vehicles that have already made this list. But, if for nothing else, you should switch to a green vehicle to help do your part. Cars are a necessary part of life for many people all over the world. Why not make the world a better place and help improve the planet as you go about your business?
